11:1-12:13. HIS PROPHECY.
N A¹ 11:1-20. The Past. (Then Future to Daniel.)
A² 11:21-12:3. The Future. (Still Future to us.)
A³ 12:4-13. Meanwhile. (As to Daniel himself.)

11:1-20. THE PAST. THEN FUTURE TO DANIEL.
A¹ B¹ 1-3. The 1st king of Greece.
    B² 4. 4 contemporary kings.
    B³ 5-20. Subsequent kings.

Daniel 11)

1 (Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede (is the same king as in 9:1: i.e. Cyrus), even I, was at my station to confirm and to strengthen him. (i.e. Michael. This verse is parenthetical, to tell us what the Angelic speaker had done 2 years previously [426 B.C.]. This was history at the time given.)
424 B.C.
2 And now (calling attention to the then present time [424 B.C.] as being distinct from v.1, which refers to what took place 2 years ago) will I show you the truth (gives you a feel for how its going to be in the future). Behold, there shall stand up yet (i.e. in the then immediate future) three kings in Persia (Cambyses, the pseudo-Smerdis, and Darius Hystaspes. But ancient histories "contain much that is admittedly fabulous", and the commentaries based on them differing among themselves are therefore not to be relied upon. We know from this verse that there were 3, after Cyrus, and a fourth. Whoever he was, he was succeeded by the "mighty king" of v.4 [Alexander the Great]); and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece.
3 And a mighty king (the he-goat's "little horn" [8:9]) shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. (See 8:4. Cp. vv.16,36)

4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken (see 8:8), and shall be divided (see 8:22) toward the four winds of heaven (Rev. 7. Dan. 7. Last hour, holding time); and not to his posterity (but to his generals), nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. (i.e. besides the 4. See 8:22. This is future to Daniel.)

11:5-20. SUBSEQUENT KINGS.
B³ C¹ 5. The 1st king of the South.
D¹ 6. The 1st king of the North.
C² 7-9. The 2nd king of the South.
D² 10. The 2nd king of the North.
C³ 11,12. The 2nd king of the South.
D³ 13-20. The 2nd king of the North.

(That here is a break between the past and the future is manifested from 10:14, of which this chapter is the continuation.)
5 And the king of the south (Ptolemy Soter, son of Lagus, king of Egypt [see v.9]. He took the title "king"; whereas his father "Lagus" had been only governor. the south has reference to Judea) shall be strong, and one of his princes (Seleucus I [Nicator = conqueror]); and he shall be strong above him (i.e. Ptolemy), and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion. (It added Syria to Babylon and Media. North - Seleucid kingdom - Iran, Irag. South - Ptolemic kingdom - Egypt. Nasar head of Egypt in 1848 when Israel became a nation again. Parable of the fig-tree. See also 1 Cor. 10:10)>

6 And in the end of years (in v.13 this is rendered "after certain years", said to be 63. Cp. 2 Chron. 18:2, and v. 8 bellow) they shall join (in league) themselves together; for the king's daughter (Berenice, daughter of Ptolemy II [Philadelphus] of Egypt) of the south shall come to the king of the north (Antiochus, who divorced his wife [Laodice] and disinherited her son [Seleucus Callinicus]) to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times. (What goes around comes around. Female = religion, it was a religious war, binding all Arab nations, Islam vs. Israel)

7 But out of a branch of her roots (Ptolemy III) shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north (now, at this time, could be Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Komani), and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
8 And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their vessels of desire of silver and of gold (said to have been valued at 40,000 talents of silver; and 2,400 images, including Egyptian idols, which Cambyes had taken from Egypt. Hence he was named by the grateful Egyptians "Euergetes" [= benefactor]); and he shall continue more years (i.e. 4 years, reigning 46 years in all) than the king of the north. (Anwar Sadat [called king of peace] befriended the Shah, he died of cancer)
9 So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own soil. (Egypt with Iraq, against Iran)

10 But his (Seleucus II [Callinicus]) sons (i.e. Seleucus II and his brother Atiochus III) he shall be stirred up (i.e. Antiochus III, the 2nd king of the north, his brother having died by a fall from his horse), and shall assemble a multitude of great forces (great military parade. He called his son and they turned and murdered him): and one shall certainly come [against him], and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and will wage war (defeating Antiochus III), even to his fortress.

11 And the king of the south (the 2nd, Ptolemy III) shall be moved himself (see 8:7), and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he (i.e. the king of the north, Antiochus III) shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be delivered into his hand. (i.e. Ptolemy's hand.)
12 And when he has subdued the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he will cause tens of thousands to fall. This occurred at Raphia, South-west of Gaza: but he shall not be strengthened by it. (Giving himself up to licentiousness. Compare the 8 year war recently were millions were killed and nothing gained.)

13 For the king (Antiochus III) shall renew the war, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come [against him] after certain years (this was 14 years after his defeat at Raphia) with a great army and with much riches. (Recently Iraq rose up Saddam Hussein against Kuwait)
14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south (this would be the 3rd king Ptolemy V [Eppiphanes], a mere child): also the sons of the oppressors (Kenites [sons of Cain], turbulent men who defiled laws and justice) of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision (i.e. i.e. to help fulfill prophecy, by taking the side of Syria, so as to make Judea independent); but they shall fall. (For they indirectly helped to establish Antiochus. See vv.16-19)
15 So the king of the north shall come (this is Antiochus III [the Great]; and in vv.16-19 describe his doings, which were a typical foreshadowing of his antitype, "the little horn", the yet future antichrist, described in 11:21-12:1), and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his people [will flee], neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
16 But he that comes against him (Ptolemy V) shall do according to his own will (thus foreshadowing but not exhausting what is said of "the vile person" in vv.21,36), and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land (which was touched by rocketry), which was wasted in his hand. (i.e. completely desolated. Long war.)
17 He shall also set his face (the idiom of expressing a fixed purpose. Cp. 2 Kings 12:17) to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and he will make equitable terms with him (i.e. Ptolemy V]. The words which follow tell us what the terms were): and he shall give him (Ptolemy V only 12 years old) the daughter of women (i.e. Cleopatra, his own daughter, then on 11 years of age. The term denotes beauty,&c.), corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him. (She sided with her husband, and defeated her fathers plan.)
18 After this shall he turn his face unto the coast-lands (or maritime countries. Cp. Ayatollah Khamenei and the Tigris river), and shall take many: but a captain (or general. He was the Roman general, Scipio [Lucius Scipio]) for his own behalf (i.e. for his own interest) shall cause the reproach offered by him (Antiochus III) to cease; without his own reproach (i.e. with untarnished reputation) he shall cause it to turn upon him.
19 Then he shall turn his face toward the fortress of his own land: but he shall stagger and fall (Antiochus III, after his defeat by Scipio at Magnesia [near Smyrna], withdrew to Syria), and not be found.
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. (Bring this prophecy up to date. Barrack Husein Obama is a "raiser of taxes". See 12:11 - 1 of Daniel's days = 1.484 years. So, He may not make it to the end of his 1st term in office.

Keep in mind, Daniel is writing to people far in the future from his time. The purpose was to let those people know the events just prior to our Lord's return. We are the people Daniel wrote to.

Verses 21-12:3 passes on to the time which is still future to us. Part of the notes in the past verses in this chapter are supposition, for at the time of the publication of the notes in this version of the Bible, the "Companion Bible" which is the Authorized Version of the 1611 KJV with Structures and Critical, Explanatory, and suggestive notes: was published in 1912))

11:21-12:3. THE FUTURE. (STILL FUTURE TO US.)
A² E 11:21-31. "The vile person" ["the little horn"].
     F 11:32,35. The People. Tried.
E 11:36-45. "The willful king" ["the little horn"].
     F 12:1-3. The People. Delivered.

(This verse begins what is future from now. You will notice that Revelation is an overlay of Daniel and visa versa.)

21 And in his estate shall stand up a despicable person (cp. Ps. 15:4. 1 of the 12 titles given to the antichrist. See 7:8. The prophecy concerning him is continuous to the end of this chapter. It is parallel with 7:8, &c.; 8:9; &c.; and 9:-26,27. He is not another successional king of the north, but a totally different and unique personage, still future. He comes in by "flatteries", and in v.40 he is attacked by both a "king of the south" and a "king of the north"), to whom was not given the dignity of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably (Deceitfully. 666 - the 6th Trump. Unexpectedly: i.e. in a time of careless security [cp. 8:25]. Cp. Ezek. 16:49 ["abundance of idleness"]), and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. (God warns us over and over again. Antichrist comes in peaceably. He will fill you head with flateries. He will prosper all those that worship him.)
22 And with the arms of a flood (flood of lies, Rev. 12:7-17) shall they sweep all before him, and shall be broken in pieces; yea, also the prince of the covenant. (i.e. a prince with whom he made a covenant or league with [v.23], and who hitherto aided him. Satan is going to take over throughout the sixth trump, sixth seal and sixth vial. His number is 666. Don't be deceived.)
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. (Kenites, sons of Cain, Goyam, heathens)
24 He (antichrist) shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yes, and he shall devise plots against the strong holds (He will buy their souls), even for a time. (up until the appointed time)
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army (confrontation of Ezek. 38, 39); and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he (i.e. the king of the south) will make no stand: for they (the Kenites) shall forecast devices against him.
26 Yes, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him (there will be treachery within, as well as fighting outside), and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain. (By deception and lies, treachery, and terrorism.)
27 Now, as to the two kings, their hearts [will be set] to do evil, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. (Intimating that these things belong to the closing scenes. Cp. vv.35 and 40)
28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant (showing when the purpose of breaking the covenant was plotted); and he shall accomplish [the purpose of his heart] (cause people to fight amongst themselves), and return to his own land.
29 At the time appointed (see Isaiah 14:12-32) he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former (vv. 25,26), or as the latter. (vv.42,42. Not successful.)
30 For the ships of Chittim (= bruisers, God's elect. See Gen. 3:15. Num. 24:24. God's children will make a stand and not bow to the false messiah, antichrist) shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant (made with the Judah at the beginning of the last 7 years, already mentioned in 9:27. In 11:28, he had already plotted the breaking of it): so shall he do [so] ((or, accomplish it: i.e. he will break it); he shall even return, and fix his attention on [with a view to co-operation] with them (i.e. Kenites, the sons Of Cain) that forsake the holy covenant.
31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary (by putting up the "abomination" [the Asherah], which brings on the judgment of "desolation". The end is marked by the "cleansing of the sanctuary" [8:14; 9:24]. This is the key to unlock time sequence [season]) of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice (This marks the middle of the "week", or the 1st seven years. See 8:11,12: 9:27; 12:11. From this point he is energized by Satan.), and they shall place the abomination that makes desolate. (This accompanies the taking away the daily sacrifice [8:13; 9:27; 12:11]. Our Lord refers to this in Matt. 24:15. Good and Bad figs)

11:32-35. THE PEOPLE. TRIED.
F G 32-. The unfaithful.
    H -32-34-. The faithful.
   G -34. The unfaithful.
    H 35. The faithful.

32 And them that are ready to deal lawlessly with the covenant shall he profane by flatteries:

but the people that do know their God shall prove themselves strong (strong for endurance [i.e. resisting all temptation to apostatize), and work effectually. (Through the Holy Spirit.)
33 And they that are wise among the people (see v.35 and 12:3,10, understand) shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword (they shall waver, i.e. by the great tribulation which is here described in part. See Mark 13:9), and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall obtain but little help:

but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to refine them (expulsion of dross), and to purify (separation from dross), and to make them white, even to the time of the end (now near at hand): because it is yet for a time appointed.

11:36-45. "THE WILLFUL KING".
E J 36-39. His character.
K 40-. His adversaries. Their Assault.
   J -40-43. His conquests.
K 44,45. His adversaries. Their Victory.

(Verses 36-45 we have the "willful king" in his unhindered course.)
36 And the king shall do according to his will (cp. 8:4; 11:3); and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every God (quoted in 2 Thess. 2:3,4; and referred to in 7:25; 8:11,25. Rev. 13:5,6), and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished (Yahaveh's indignation. Cp. 8:19; 9:16; and Isa. 10:23,25): for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women (in view of the context this must refer to any gods desired by women": such as Baaltis, Astarte, or Mylita of the Babylonians; the Persian Artemis, or Nanæa of The Syrians; or the "queen of heaven" of Jer. 7:18; 44:17,&c.), nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 But in its place shall he honor the god of fortresses (i.e. the god of forces on its pedestal): and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. (Thus, in secret he is superstitious, though in public he exalts himself above all gods.)
39 Thus shall he deal in the strongest fortresses with a strange god, whomsoever acknowledges him and he will increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price. (The 10 horns/toes, supernatural.)

40 And at the time of the end (i.e. near to the close of the last 7 years) shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind (cp. Ezek. 1. Supernatural performing miracles), with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; ("one world system".)

and he (i.e. this "willful king") shall enter into the countries [adjoining, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land (cp. 16,45; and 8:9), and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the son of Ammon. (Lots children. He will use them)
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. (Ethiopia is Tanzania. How is he gathering the silver and gold? How much does your gasoline cost?)

44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him (Chittin - the bruisers, God's elect. You have power over him. Luke 10:18,19. It’s you being delivered up and the Holy Spirit speaks through you. It’s going to trouble him big time. It will be worse than the deadly wound. He won't be able to heal this because it is Almighty God speaking through His Elect, identifying what’s happening in this world. And you are a part of it. God has chosen you for that. Stay with Him, stand with Him. You either stand for God or you stand for nothing. You make that stand!): therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. (Mark 13. Rev. 13:7.)
45 And he shall spread out the palatial tent (That old throne) between the seas in the glorious holy mountain (Right on the rock); yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. (7th Trump. For he is smitten by God Himself. That deadly wound will happen to those that are on the rock. The Dome is over the rock and that's why people go to war over it. If you want to start a war in a hurry, somebody take the rock. It's the most sacred place to all religions Christian, Jewish, and Mohammed’s of the entire world. So naturally where do you think Satan is going to sit? Well that's it, planted right there. But that's okay. Guess what's going to happen to that throne? You read it earlier. See Isa. 11:4. Zech. 12,14. 2 Thess. 2:8. Rev. 19:20. The grave does not receive him [for Isa. 14:19 is only a comparison "like"], and he is not joined with them in burial. He is cast into the lake of fire.)
