(Verses 1-9 tells you how to get along with brethren; vv.10-end with community/people; 13:1-9 civilly/government)

Romans 12)

I beseech you therefore (this refers to 8:39, chapters 9-11 being a digression.), brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies (spiritually) a living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. (See Hos. 6:6)
And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed (see Matt. 17:2) by the renewing of the mind (cp. Heb. 6:6), to your proving what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (IF you get into God's letter to you. Throw out the things of the world. Understand the purpose of God's plan, learn what He wants you to do.)

     C 13:8-14. Social relationship.
    B 14:1-15:7. The brethren.

For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one that is among you, not to think of himself overwhelmingly in comparison with what he ought to think; but to think to being sober, according as God imparted to each one the measure of faith. (God gives us gifts if you'll use them. He gives you what you can handle. never admire another one's gifts.)
For as we have many the members in one body (body of Christ), and all the members have not the same office: (There are different duties, one is no more important than another. See 8:13)
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another. (It's important.)
But having gifts (Gr. charisma) differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of the faith; (How much trust in God's Word you have and faith to believe it.)
Or ministering, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teaches, on teaching; (Wait until you are ready or God tells you that you are ready.)
Or he that exhorts, on exhortation (see Acts 4:36): he that gives, let him do it with simplicity; he that presides, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be unfeigned (let it be real). Abhorring the evil; cleaving to the good. (Use discernment. sidestep that which is evil.)
Be kindly affectionate one to another with love for the brethren; in honor preferring one another; (i.e. in every honorable matter leading one to another. Work together.)
Not slothful in business (business of life, serve people); fervent (anxious, righteous indignation) in the spirit; serving the Lord;
Rejoicing in the hope; patient in tribulation (keep your cool. Discipline, 1 Cor. 10:13. Think positive); continuing steadfastly in prayer; (Ask Him for help.)
Communicating to the necessity of saints; pursuing kindness to strangers.
Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not. (See Heb. 10:12-20)
Rejoice with them that do rejoice (cp. 1 Cor. 12:26), and weep with them that weep. (Have compassion, show you condolences.)
Be of the same mind one toward another (i.e. be in brotherly sympathy with, work in harmony). Mind not high things, but condescend (lit. be carried away with) to the lowly [ones]. Become not prudent in your own conceits. (Prov. 3:7. Don't talk down to people, talk to them where there at, their level. Don't be a know-it-all.)
Recompense to no one evil for evil. Take thought beforehand (2 Cor. 8:21. 1 Tim. 5:8. Prov. 3:4) things good in the sight of all people. (Always keep your word.)
If it be possible (sometimes you can't), as much as lies in you, be at peace with all people.
Beloved, revenge not yourselves, but give place to the wrath (i.e. of God): for it is written, "Vengeance (see Acts 7:24) is Mine; I will recompense, says the Lord." (See Deut. 32:35)
Therefore if your enemy hunger, feed him (see Amos 8:13); if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head. (Quoted from Prov. 21,22. Show love to your enemies, even tough love!)
Be not overcome of evil (spirit), but overcome evil with good. (Holy Spirit.)
