Psalm 149)
1 Praise you the LORD. (Hallelu-YAH)
Sing to the LORD a new song,
And His praise in the assembly (in the military sense) of beloved (or favored ones).
2 Let Israel rejoice in Him that made him:
Let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise His name
In the dance:
Let them sing praises to Him
With the drum and harp.
4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His People:
He will beautify the meek with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful with [ascriptions of] glory:
Let them sing aloud upon their couches.
6 Let the extollings of GOD (El) be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the nations,
And punishments upon the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written: (See Deut. 32:40-43. Cp. Isa. 45:14. Ezek 25:14; chs. 38 and 39. Zech. 14. The special reference is to Numbers 24:17-24.)
This honor have all His beloved.
Praise you The LORD.
