Psalm 142)

1 I cried to the LORD with my voice;
With my voice to the LORD did I make my supplication.
2 I poured out my complaint before Him;
I shewed before Him my trouble.

3 When my spirit fainted (Heb. = was darkened. Cp. 77:3; 107:3. Elsewhere only Jonah 2:8; and Lam. 2:12) within me, then [I remembered] You knew my path.

In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld [on my left hand], but there was no man that would recognize me:
Refuge failed me; no man cared for me.
