G2/12 C 1. Yehovah. My comfort and peace. D 2-. I have comforted myself in You. D -2. I have comforted myself in You. C 3. Yehovah. Israel's comfort and peace.
Psalm 131)
1 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty:
Neither do I exercise myself in great matters,
Or in things too wonderful for me.
2 [See] whether I have not behaved and silenced (or soothed and uplifted, i.e. comforted) myself,
As a child that is weaned of his mother:
Myself is even as a weaned child.
3 Let Israel (used to link the 3 Psalms of this group together [129:1; 130:7,8; 131:3]. For Israel is to find rest and peace where their kings [David, Hezekiah] found it) hope in the LORD
From henceforth and for ever.
