Psalm 112)

1 Praise you the LORD. (Hallelu-Yah.)

(א) Happy is the man that reveres the LORD (Heb. eth Yehovah, i.e. Yehovah Himself),
(ב) That delights greatly in His commandments.
2 (ג) His seed shall be mighty upon earth:
(ד) The generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 (ה) Wealth and riches shall be in his house:

(ו) And his righteousness endures for ever.
4 (ז) To upright ones there arises light in the darkness:

(ח) He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 (ט) A good man (or, Good is the man) shows favor, and lends (put for all kinds of merciful acts):
(י) He will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 (כ) Surely he shall not be moved for ever:
(ל) A righteous one shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 (ם) He shall not be afraid of evil tidings (put for whatever bad news may be heard):
(נ) His heart is fixed, confiding in the LORD.
8 (ס) His heart is established, he shall not be afraid,
(ע) Until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 (פ) He has dispersed, he has given to the helpless one;

(צ) His righteousness endures for ever; (Quoted in 2 Cor. 9:9.)

(ק) His horn shall be exalted with honor.

10 (ר) A lawless one shall see it, and be grieved;
(ש) He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away:
(ת) The desire (probably = hope) of lawless ones shall perish.
