Psalm 11)
1 In the LORD (Yahaveh) I have fled for refuge:
how say you to me,
"Flee as (or, "like") a bird to your mountain?"
2 For, lo, the lawless ones bend their bow,
they make ready their arrow upon the string,
that they may in the darkness shoot at upright ones in heart.
3 If the settled order of truth be destroyed (or institution; not the roof or walls),
what can a righteous do? (Not say or think, but lawfully and effectually "do".)
4 The LORD is in His Holy Temple,
the LORD'S throne is in heaven:
His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the son of men. (Heb. 'ādām.)
5 The LORD tries a righteous one:
but the lawless ones and him that loves violence He hates.
6 Upon the lawless ones He shall rain snares,
fire and brimstone, and an horrible blast (Heb. rūach): this shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the righteous LORD loves righteousness;
An upright one shall gaze upon His face. (See Ex. 34:20.)
