Exodus 11

1-10. The Tenth Plague Threatened.

1. God's word to Moses as to the tenth plague.
2,3. Directions as to actions (people).
4-8. Direction as to words (Pharaoh).
9. God's word to Moses as to result.

1491 B.C.

(It becomes obvious that God already spoke to Moses after he left the presence of Pharaoh, as Pharaoh said to Moses that if I see you again I will kill you. Pharaoh and the Egyptians have gone through nine of these plagues already, and have lost crops, and many people to this point in time, with all the other discomforts that went right along with those plagues. Notice that this chapter opens with a parenthesis, with the Lord speaking directly to Moses, and letting him know that there will be one more plague and that plague will be enough to bring the children of Israel out of captivity.

It could have been that God gave Moses the full message as to the extent of this plague, but keep in mind what God said back in Exodus 7:5, when God first age this commission to Moses. "And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth Mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them." God kept Pharaoh's heart hardened for the sake of bringing him and the Egyptians to the point of knowing that the God of Israel is the only true God, and their gods of animals, trees and things made of hands were false gods which could not be trusted.

And it would be from this tenth plague that we get the feast, and days that we know today as our Passover.)

{Exodus 11:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.

2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver and jewels of gold."

(This is talking about asking of the Egyptians for their jewels of silver and gold. At this point in time, most of the Egyptians have already heeded to the instructions of Moses, and suffered under those other plagues. They brought their livestock into shelters and were protected from those other plagues, so they were converted and came to revere and respect the true God of Israel. So when these women went to the Egyptians to ask of their jewels for the journey, the Egyptians were very pleased to assist the Israelites for their journey.)

3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.}

(Remember that Moses warned the Egyptians also to stay out of the field and to get their cattle in the barn for their own protection. God allowed Moses to save not only the children of Israel from those plagues, but also those Egyptians that would listen to the warnings of God.)

4 And Moses said, "Thus saith the LORD, 'About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

(Moses is warning the children of Israel here, and letting them know exactly what is to happen that night, and what they are to do in advance to prepare for that night. This action is going to happen about midnight, for remember the warning Jesus gave about the wedding that would take place about midnight, in Matthew 24:1 - 13. This was the great wedding that takes place when the Bridegroom comes for His bride. From that parable we saw that five virgins would hold true by trimming their lamps with sufficient oil in their lamps, but the five foolish virgins slept and took no oil [or truth] for their lamps [minds] to keep them to the end. The end is the coming of the Lord at the seventh trump. The foolish virgins were not prepared for what was to come upon them, and though they gave lip service to Jesus, their knowledge and wisdom of the time they lived in allowed them to take the wrong wedding, that of Satan that came first. Jesus then warned us, living in that final generation; "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the son of man cometh." [verse 13]

So we have the type of that parable, for those that desire to be faithful all the way to the end.)

5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

(All the first born in the land from the most, Pharaoh; to the least of his maidservants working at the mill, all their firstborn shall die. It covers all the steps of life, of man and beast, no matter what the age, the plague will hit the firstborn.)

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.'

(This plague documents completely that God will be in control of all that happens that night. Of course "shall not a dog move his tongue" is an idiom; A dog puts forth it's tongue and points it when it's about to bark, growl or attack. God is telling these Israelites that not one of them or their animals and property is going to be harmed by this tenth plague that will hit all of Egypt.

This is a type of the final tribulation, when all the plagues of the end times are all around us, not one of God's Elect will be harmed in any manner by the plague that will destroy God's enemies. Those that say, "Thank God I'm going in the rapture, and that they don't have to stay for the tribulation." They are blind to the fact that there will be no rapture, that's right, all souls living in their flesh bodies will be right here to the final end, to the sounding of the seventh and last trump.

So are you going through the tribulation? This tenth plague is allowing you and I living in these last days to see exactly how God takes care of His own. God will protect you from that plague in the tribulation, which is sent against His enemy only, and not one person that believes in the Father, and by faith has received the Son will have a hair touched on their head. Of course the two witnesses will be killed exactly as God told us they would in Revelation 11. It is written that God will give you protection, and this tenth plague allows us to see exactly how God's protection will be fulfilled.

God has told us over and over that He will protect you, and He gave us many examples of His protection. In Daniel 2 through the three Hebrew children that were thrown into the fiery furnace, and not a hair on their head was touched. Also when Israel's army of seven thousand was surrounded by hundreds of thousands of the enemy, and Elijah asked God to open the eyes of his servant to see God's army, and then that army of God rumbled and the enemy fled from the noise. There are many examples God has given us to let us know that He can protect His own. Even when we are delivered up to the synagogues of Satan, as written in Mark 13:9 - 11, God will place the words that you are to say into your mind and mouth, so that you don't even have to think beforehand what you shall say.

God has his seven thousand that have not bowed their knee to the image of Baal in Elias day, and God will also have His seven thousand that will not bow their knee to the image of Baal in this final generation. Those with the seal of God in their minds, know what to expect in these latter days, and not one of them will find the miracles and supernatural acts of Satan tempting to them. They will know that this time that Satan and his fallen angels, and that religious system will be very short lived to five month, and then it all will be over at the seventh trump.

Don't allow yourself to be so scared that God can't handle His own business, and provide for protection and substance for His own people, but get faith about yourself. When you know that Father loves you, and takes care of His own, how could you fear any time or thing when you have your complete faith in Him.)

8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto Me, and bow down themselves unto Me, saying, 'Get thee out,' and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. " And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

(In the morning after Pharaoh's firstborn has been slain, Pharaoh will be in great anger at Moses, and at God. The people of Egypt will know exactly the power of Moses' God, and that God is in control of everything that is happening. Over and over God hardened Pharaoh's heart to the point that his firstborn had to be killed, but after the death angel passed, noticed how many will be saved because of this.

When ever God takes a life, He also is the judge of that soul in the eternity. When the clay of this flesh body returns back to the elements that it is made of, the soul and spirit returns immediately to the Father that placed that soul and spirit in the embryo of that child at conception. God gives life and He can take it. Many Egyptians were saved and come to know the true God through this final plague upon Egypt. They came to know that some animal or fish wasn't God, but YHVH, the children of Israel's God was the only true God.)

9 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt."

(This was the purpose that this tenth plague must come to pass; "That My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt." This same purpose was given to Moses long before he entered into Egypt to set the children of Israel free. Exodus 7:5 makes is clear that the people, from top to bottom would see the plagues, and hear the words that Moses would say from God, and they would know absolutely that the prophecy had already been set in motion. The killing of the firstborn would come to pass exactly at the hour that God told Moses that it would; At Midnight. God sets the appointed times, and they take place right on schedule.)

10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

(God allowed the miracles to be done right on time, and He directed Moses, through the mouth of Aaron, to let Pharaoh know each plague before it happened. God is the potter and those in their flesh bodies are the clay. Romans 9:20, 21; "Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it 'Why hast thou made me thus.' Hast not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?" God created each soul in that first earth age, and He knows exactly what those souls did then. In fact, one third of those souls follow Satan, and that is why we have this age of flesh man. To give each soul a chance to be born innocent of that first age, and chose between God and Satan. God formed that soul and he created that flesh body that you have now. The clay had better not talk back to the maker, the potter.

Keep in mind that every thing that Father does to each soul, that soul deserves everything that is done to him. If God is using that soul to do a certain purpose for Him in this earth age, that purpose is that salvation will brought to others. God will reward that soul well for what we have to go through in this earth age, to fulfill His plan. So before you get all bent out of shape over the way that God is treating people here, by hardening Pharaoh's heart, wake up, it is for a purpose. God will not harm anyone that does not have chastisement coming to them. Chastisement comes to strengthen that soul, not to weaken them. God does take care of His own, but are you one of God's own?)
