Our Arbitrator

Our Father is so good to us. We have a fantastic Arbitrator. The word "arbitrator" in the Greek language means "a go between". It can mean an "intercessor". The Greek word comes from the prime "meso" which means "in the middle". We have an Arbitrator Who is able to stand between you and the world. You are missing out on a lot in life, if you overlook this fact. The Arbitrator is able to help you deal with the problems of this troubled world. Open you Bibles to 1 Timothy.

1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Christians are peace loving people. As long as you don't infringe upon our rights, we won't infringe on the rights of others.

1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

It is God's will that all be saved (2 Peter 3:9). The truth sets you free from the problems of this world.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus;

Stay focused on the Word, and you have nothing to fear. The mediator is there to step in between you and the problems of the world. Talk to Him. We are coming into some perilous times. That is why we are covering this subject. You will need your Arbitrator.

1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Those who love and serve Him do not face the troubles of the world alone. We have an Arbitrator. He is Jesus Christ. Let's continue our study in Hebrews.

Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an High Priest, Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Don't ever forget where your Arbitrator is situated. He is at the right hand of God. What a comfort!

Hebrews 8:2 A Minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the LORD pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this Man have somewhat also to offer.

Jesus had somewhat to offer alright. He offered Himself for us. His blood covers our sins, if we believe.

Hebrews 8:4 For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, "See," saith He, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

The tabernacle, and everything within the tabernacle, was intended to show man how to worship and communicate with God. The tabernacle was were man could atone for his sins. The new tabernacle is Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:6 But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

The latter is a better tabernacle, because it is heavenly not earthly. The tabernacle of Moses served a purpose, but the tabernacle of Jesus Christ is much better. You have no reason to fear. You and your Arbitrator can handle the problems of the world, or the problems of powers on high. Jesus is able to go between you and Satan.

Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, He saith, "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

The new covenant is our Arbitrator, Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the LORD.

The children of Israel failed the covenant the Lord made with them miserably. While God was communicating the law to Moses on Mount Sinai, they were making a golden calf to their god. Don't you fail the new covenant by refusing to believe on Jesus Christ. Or worse, by believing antichrist is Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord:' for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

On the first day of the millennium every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

There is a condition. You must believe and repent to be forgiven. If you won't, He has another place for you.

Hebrews 8:13 In that He saith, "A new covenant," He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ brought about the new covenant. Let's continue on in Chapter Nine verse fourteen as we continue our study concerning our Arbitrator.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The traditions of men are dead works. They will take you no where. If anything, they will lead you away from God's truth. Stay focused on the Word of God. Be ready to stand against the lies of Satan. You are ready for some heavy duty plowing, because you have the Arbitrator in your corner. There is nothing you can't handle with His help.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause He is the Mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Not only do the elect receive the promise of eternal inheritance, through teaching truth, they bring the possibility of eternal life to their brothers and sisters who are lost in this world of darkness.

Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

If you are left in someone's will, you can't "cash in" until the person dies. Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross for you. "Cash in". It is you inheritance. He is your Mediator.

Hebrews 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

The first testament was dedicated with the blood of calves and goats. The last testament was dedicated with the blood of Jesus Christ, the sacrifice for one and all time.

Hebrews 9:20 Saying, "This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you." 21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Our sins today are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

You are on earth; however, you have an Arbitrator Who is in heaven. He sits at the right hand of God.

Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Did He do this for you? Yes! More importantly, Jesus paid the price for all of us. And, when you plant a seed that brings one of God's children back to Him, you are a vessel Father can utilize.

Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that He should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

Can you imagine that? He was perfectly innocent. But He was willing to die on the cross for us.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

There is no reincarnation. Our flesh dies one time.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Our Arbitrator is returning as King of kings, and Lord of lords. He stands between you and the world, but you must do things His way. Stay focused on His Word. In conclusion, let's turn to Chapter 12.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Paul spoke colloquial Greek. The word "cloud" means "a large number". As we approach these end times there are a larger and larger number of witnesses. You are one of them. You will witness against the antichrist. Paul likens the struggle of these witnesses as to an olympic foot race. You better unload the troubles of this world, or they will slow you down. The Arbitrator will get between you and the troubles of this world, if you will let Him. Skip ahead to verse twenty-two with me.

Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

There will be a cloud of angels with Christ, When He returns. We are talking about the end times, beloved.

Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

The blood of Abel's sacrifices can't cover your sins, but the blood of Jesus Christ can. He is your Arbitrator.

Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not Him That speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him That spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him That speaketh from heaven:

Don't refuse your Arbitrator. He sits in heavenly places at the right hand of God. He is able to get between you and the problems of this world. He is able to step between you and Satan, If you don't refuse Him.

In His service,
