Psalm 99)

1 The LORD has taken a kingdom; let the peoples tremble:
He sits between the cherubims (the Psalm was therefore written while the Ark was in existence); let the earth be moved.
2 The LORD is great in Zion;
And He is high above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise Your great and terrible name;
For it is holy. (See Ex.3:5.)
4 The king's strength also loves judgment;

You do establish equity,
You execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob. (See 2 Sam. 8:15 and 1 Chron. 18;14. Cp. with 1 Kings 10:9.)

5 Exalt you the LORD our God,
And worship at His footstool;
For He is holy.

6 Moses (he was the grandson of Levi, and exercised the priestly functions before Aaron [Ex. 24:6-8]; even consecrating him [Ex. 28]. He and Aaron are included "among His priests") and Aaron among His priests,
And Samuel (cp. 1 Sam. 7:9,10; 12:18) among them that call upon His name;
Called upon the LORD, and He answered them.
7 He spake to them (i.e. Moses and Aaron) in the cloudy pillar:
They kept His testimonies, and the ordinance that He gave them.

8 You answered them (Moses and Arron), O LORD our God:
You were a God that forgave the People,
Though You took vengeance of the Peoples inventions. (Cp. Num. 20:12. Deut. 3:26. Ps. 106:32,33.)

9 Exalt the LORD our God,
And worship at His holy hill;
For the LORD our God is holy.
