(A Psalm or Song for the Sabbath day.)

(Looking forward to the Day and Rest of Messiah's reign. May it not also have reference to the wilderness time, the cause being recorded in Num. 15:32-41?)

Psalm 92)

1 It Is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord
And to sing praises to Your name, O MOST HIGH (Elyon, showing that it relates to His doings in the earth):
2 To show forth Your loving-kindness in the morning,
And Thy faithfulness in the night,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery;
Upon the harp with a meditation.

4 For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your acts:
I will triumph in the labors of Your hands.

5 O LORD, how great are Your works!
And Your thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knows not;
Neither does a fool understand this.

7 When the lawless spring as the grass,
And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;
It is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
8 But You, LORD, are [enthroned] on high for evermore.

9 For, lo, Your enemies, O LORD,
For, lo, Your enemies shall perish;
All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shall thou exalt like the horn of [those of] an ox (or buffalo):

I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 My eye also shall look on my enemies,

And my ears shall hear of [the destruction of] the wicked that rise up against me.

12 A righteous one shall flourish like the palm tree: (In barren soil, watered deep at the roots.)
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (In mountain stones and storms, the roots embedded in the rocks.)

13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; (The righteous for fruit, the lawless for fuel.)
They shall be fat and flourishing;

15 To show that the LORD is upright:

He is my rock,

And there is no unrighteousness in Him.
