The 24th Prophecy of Jeremiah.

478 B.C.

Jeremiah 33)

1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 "Thus says the LORD the Doer thereof (i.e. The accomplisher of His word), the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is His name;
3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and inaccessible things (i.e. too high for Jeremiah to know, apart from revelation), which you know not.'
4 For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel (see 11:1), concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword; (i.e. the demolished to serve as a fence against the mounts and the sword)
5 'They come (i.e. the demolished houses are coming to be used for defense,&c.) to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of mankind, whom I have slain in My anger and in My fury, and for all whose lawlessness I have hid my face from this city.

6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
8 And I will cleanse (this is the foundation for all the blessing) them from all their iniquity (the principles), whereby they have sinned against Me; and I will pardon all their iniquities (the acts), whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against Me.
9 And it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure to it.'

10 Thus says the LORD; 'Again there shall be heard in this place, which you say (Jeremiah had been saying this) shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,

11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, 'Praise the LORD of hosts (Yahaveh Zebaoth. See 6:6, and 1 Sam. 1:3): for the LORD is good; for His loving-kindness (or grace) endures age-abiding (therefore the fulfillment is still future):' and of them that shall bring (implying a settled order of worship) the thank-offering (or confession [of praise]) into the house of the LORD.

For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, says the LORD.'

12 Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof,

shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
13 In the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that tells them, says the LORD.

14 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

33:15-18. THE BRANCH OF YAHAVEH.
E2 a 15. The Branch raised up.
     b 16. Blessing. Salvation brought.
a 17. Heir of David not lacking.
     b 18. Blessing. Worship secured.

15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness (cp. 23:5. Isa. 61:11) to grow up to David; and He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. (As David is more than once said to have done.)

16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.' (This term is here applied to the city, which has been applied to the king in 23:6.)

17 For thus says the LORD; 'David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.' " (See Deut. 17:9, Num. 25:10-13. Mal.2:5.)

33:19-26. THE FAITHFULNESS OF YAHAVEH.
E3 c1 19,20. Tokens. Day and night.
     d1 21. Covenant with David.
c2 22-. Tokens. Stars and sand.

The 25th Prophecy of Jeremiah.

19 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
20 "Thus says the LORD; 'If you can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; (See Gen. 8:22. Cp. 31:35. God is making a challenge. Do you know anyone that is able to stop the day or the night?)

21 Then may also My covenant be broken with David my servant (Wholly unconditional. Cp. 2 Sam. 7:12,&c. Cp. Pss. 89:3,4,20-27, and 132:11, with Jer. 31:35-37, and 33:17-26), that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, My ministers. (Every morning when you see the daybreak, you can rest assured that God is going to have someone on the throne and a priest people.)

22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered (See Gen. 15:3; 22:7. Cp. Jer. 31:37), neither the sand of the sea measured:

so will I multiply the seed of David My servant, and the Levites that minister to Me.' " (See Ge. 13:19. The only portion of God's children that won't pass through this earth age are the fallen angels of Genesis 6 and Jude 1:6.)

The 26th Prophecy of Jeremiah.

23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
24 "Consider you not what this people have spoken, saying, 'The two families which the LORD has chosen, He has even cast them off?' thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. (Read this last verse very carefully. Did God say He cast His people off and despised them? No! The people said this. Don't listen to people. Listen to God.)
25 Thus saith the LORD; If My covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; (See Gen. 8:22. The natural events governed by God's laws established over heaven and earth are signs of His promises. Do you know anyone that can turn off gravity or the changing of the seasons.)

26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (see Gen. 50;24): for I will cause their captivity to return, and have compassion on them. (If someone out there is able to change His laws of nature, God won't bring salvation to His children. That is a promise you can count on. God's covenant signs are witnessed daily by the rising and setting of the sun.)
